Charlie’s Celebration of Life

Charlie’s Celebration of Life was a moment that had been planned for many years. Barb and I were contacted by Charlie’s wife, Barbara, and Charlie’s daughter, Kali about a celebration of life event in our town. We met with them at their home to discuss the event. Charlie passed away in 2012 and the family had recently set the headstone in place at the cemetery. The headstone was the final piece of the celebration for this loving father and husband.

Charlie and Barbara were married in 1977 and had 3 children. Charlie worked in the farming industry locally and he encouraged his children to follow their dreams. Kali is a music teacher in New York City and is the author behind Fred the Bee. Kali is also filing paperwork to run for office representing the State of Kansas. Listening to Kali and Barbara talk about Charlie and how amazing of a husband, father and family provider was nothing short of amazing. This man made an impression on everyone he met.

The gathering happened at our local cemetery as family from all across the country came to celebrate the awesome man that was Charlie. We had the opportunity to meet Sasha and Dylan, Charlie and Barbara’s other children. The celebration of life brought closure and honored a man that had a heart of gold. Charlie’s Celebration of Life would not have been complete without a bottle of Peach Schnapps to which Barbara and the children has a toast to honor him. We were so happy to have been provided the opportunity to capture this event in time, and we know that Charlie was watching from above and sending his love.
